Local 4H'ers are using three of our goats for their livestock projects. These young ladies are working hard and learning a lot about the animals and farm life. Some of those lessons can be harder than others unfortunately. Tagging appears to be one of the tough ones. The youngest girl started to cry while her goat was being tagged!
That young girl displayed great compassion which is most admirable. This type of love and care is certainly something well worth encouraging. This is just one of the wonderful lessons to be learned through participation in local 4H clubs and projects. Caring for animals can be a challenging job that is sometimes not always pleasant. Even though we all prefer the sweet and fun experiences, the difficult ones are also necessary to ensure the health and safety of that animal. They look to us to meet all their needs.
Please take time and support your local 4H programs and the young people who participate in them. There is no greater reward than seeing these youngsters learn the life-long lesson of setting goals and working hard to attain them. We at Walk Ahead Farms, Inc feel honored to be a part of this process.
